Everyone welcome to A Girl Flying in The Clouds !! Originally I was going to call this : Flying in the  Clouds !! However that is already taken. Why was I going to call it that?

My chinese name is : 云菲 . The first symbol represents clouds and the second represent flying. So basically the catch of it is: Flying in the Clouds. My host mother would always say: Daydreamer haha.

So with my poor luck of "Flying in the Clouds" <--because is that not original?--- being taken I decided to add more words. Eventually is became : "A Girl Flying in The Clouds" <---is that not even more original??

Wait.... what is with the host mother...chinese name...stuff?

Well in 2011-2012 I was a exchange student ^___^ I lived in Taipei, Taiwan. I went to school ^_^ Learned chinese. Became independent. Became more outgoing. Met the most a-mazing friends. Traveled. Cried. Got homesick. Learned to play Tennis. Learned about another culture.

All of it was possible...thanks to RYE (Rotary Youth Exchange).

Now it is time to start Adventure #2. My goal for 2012-2013 is to go back to  Asian. On a University Exchange. This time to Japan

What most people do not know is that I was originally destined for Japan. Rotary Japan accepted me, however due to the earthquake I was not allowed to go. It has been my life long dream to study in Japan and I am not giving up.

I have been studying Japanese for 5 years (and am now majoring in it @ the University). I got to spend two weeks in Japan on a High School Trip and loved it.

Now I am putting my heart, determination, motivation and goals towards spending a year there as a exchange student. If accepted, I would leave in the beginning of 2014.

This blog will document my process on trying to become a exchange student in Japan as well as my daily life.

This may seem like I am "Flying in the Clouds", however it has been my life long dream. I loved my year in Taiwan and now I have the need/urge to return to Asia ^_^
